Solar cell is a kind of photoelectric semiconductor sheet that uses sunlight to directly generate electricity. It is also called “solar chip” or “photocell”. As long as it meets certain illuminance conditions, it can output voltage instantly and in the case of loops. Generate current. It is called solar photovoltaic in physics.
The types of solar cells include monocrystalline silicon solar cells, polycrystalline silicon solar cells, thin-film solar cells, and concentrating solar cells. Let’s talk about the solar cells in it.

①Polycrystalline silicon solar cell. Compared with monocrystalline silicon, the production process of polycrystalline silicon is simpler, consumes less energy, requires low raw material purity and size, and has lower production costs. As the photovoltaic industry enters the severe winter, development has not stopped but accelerated. According to the “West China Metropolis Daily” on August 1, 2011: “Tongwei Group’s 6,000-ton polysilicon project can be put into production in Chengdu Shuangliu in 2012. On September 28 of the same year, 383 new energy institutions and corporate giants at home and abroad participated The China (Chengdu) New Energy International Summit and Exhibition was held in Shuangliu, and the National Development and Reform Commission unveiled the “Chengdu New Energy Industry National Technology Industry Base”. New energy companies gathered in the park to actively promote the continuous and chain development of the new energy industry. According to the transformation from the assembly and parts processing type to the system integration type, from the product manufacturing type to the product research and development type; from the economic structure analysis, it has begun to transform from a labor-based economy and a capital-based economy to a knowledge-based economy and an innovative economy.
② Thin-film solar cells. Thin-film solar cells can use low-priced glass, plastic, ceramics, graphite, metal sheets and other different materials as substrates, and are manufactured using a variety of deposition techniques. They are called second-generation solar cells.
After the outbreak of the international financial turmoil, the European market shrank, and many foreign companies turned to develop the Chinese market and restarted the cooperation between the two sides to jointly build a cadmium sulfide thin-film solar cell production line. The company invests more than 9% of its sales revenue in research and development. It currently has a number of patented technologies with independent intellectual property rights. It has independently developed cadmium sulfide (Cds), dilute cadmium (CdTe) and its synthetic solar cell materials production technology. On June 5, 2012, the Chinese company Apollo acquired Solibro, a manufacturer of copper indium selenium (CIGS) thin-film batteries, a subsidiary of German Q-CELLS, through the reorganized Hanergy Holdings. The company’s copper indium selenium (CIGS) thin-film solar cells have the world’s highest module conversion efficiency, and the R&D conversion rate has reached 20.5%. On July 25, 2013, China Energy once again successfully acquired Global Solar Energy, the world’s leading thin-film solar energy company. The flexible solar cell modules it produces can be widely used in BIPV, solar roof systems, electric vehicles, etc. field. This indicates that China can occupy the forefront of thin-film power generation technology through global technology integration.
③ Concentrating solar cells. Concentrating photovoltaic technology uses cheap sunlight reflectors or transmissive mirrors to converge the energy of solar radiation to achieve a doubled increase in solar energy on solar cells. It is known as the third generation of solar cells. The efficiency of the concentrator cell has reached 41.0%, which can greatly reduce the cost of photovoltaic power generation. Compared with conventional flat panel solar cell modules, the concentrating photovoltaic system has a 40% increase in power generation, a 40% reduction in module cost, and a reduction in the power generation cost of the system by more than 60%. Through the use of concentrated photovoltaic systems, it is possible to reduce the high price of photovoltaic power to the level of coal power.
